When innovation, exchange, and knowledge transfer come together, it takes more than just strong content: reliable media technology that works in the background and makes dialogue visible and audible. Kilchenmann took on this role for Swissbau Lab 2026 on behalf of IEU Kommunikation AG.
Swissbau is the leading platform for the Swiss construction and real estate industry and takes place every two years in the exhibition halls of Basel. National and international companies present innovations, trends, and solutions from the fields of construction, architecture, and real estate.
From January 22 to 24, 2026, Kilchenmann was once again invited to support the Swissbau Lab as a technology partner on behalf of IEU Kommunikation AG. The aim was to operate the lab as a central platform for presentations, talks, and discussion formats with reliable media technology and to integrate it seamlessly into the ongoing trade fair operations.
Initial situation/requirements
Throughout the trade fair, the Swissbau Lab served as a central meeting place for knowledge transfer, professional exchange, and in-depth discussions. The technical requirements were correspondingly high: reliable presentation technology, excellent audio quality, and continuous technical support throughout the entire duration of the fair.
Integrating stage and presentation technology into the dynamic trade fair environment, with changing speakers, short setup times, and parallel program items, proved particularly challenging.
Technical implementation
Kilchenmann took charge of planning, setting up, and operating the entire media technology infrastructure for the Swissbau Lab. This included comprehensive technical support for all stage formats with audio, video, and lighting technology, as well as the installation and operation of high-performance sound systems to ensure high speech intelligibility during presentations. Wireless microphone systems for speakers and moderators were set up, permanently monitored, and professionally maintained during the ongoing program.
Another key component was the planning, implementation, and monitoring of the presentation technology. Presentations and media content were reliably played back, while the video and signal technologywas centrallycoordinated and operated. Close coordination with the organizer, program managers, and other trades on site ensured that even last-minute adjustments could be implemented efficiently and professionally. All technical installations were professionally set up and dismantled in accordance with the specified trade fair schedule.
The project was also challenging from a logistical point of view: work on setting up the entire infrastructure began in the week leading up to the trade fair.
Conclusion
Swissbau Lab 2026 clearly demonstrated the central importance of precisely planned and reliably operated media technology for dialogue-oriented trade fair formats. Thanks to stable technical systems, high-quality audio solutions, and comprehensive on-site support, Kilchenmann ensured that content could be communicated clearly, comprehensively, and effectively.
The renewed collaboration within the framework of Swissbau underscores the importance of close, cooperative coordination between the customer and technology partner. Only through the early involvement of all parties, clear communication channels, and a shared understanding of the content and technical objectives can a format such as the Swissbau Lab be operated reliably, efficiently, and with consistently high quality over several days of the trade fair.
