The NZZ Connect events promote the exchange between business and science and offer independent, competent and reliable information on current topics from business, science and politics. As an important innovation community and dialog platform in Switzerland, they bring together leading decision-makers.

As a dialogue platform , NZZ Connect brings together leading decision-makers from business, academia, and politics and fosters discussion on current and future-oriented topics. FutureHealth has evolved into an established platform for innovation in healthcare that connects key players and facilitates interdisciplinary dialogue on current developments in the healthcare sector.

The 9th edition of FutureHealth took place in Basel and brought together around 500 participants as well as over 30 speakers fromSwitzerland and abroad. The program, themed “Prevention and Mental Health: From Challenge to Change,” featured presentations, panels, and discussions on current issues and the future of healthcare. Between the thematic blocks, networking breaks provided opportunities for exchange among participants as well as with representatives of the life sciences community. In addition to inspiring keynotes by high-profile speakers and deep-dive sessions, the Innovation Challenge was added to the program for the first time: innovators presented projects and solutions that make a measurable difference in healthcare.

Background

For many years, the Kilchenmann team has ensured the professional and seamless technical execution of NZZ Connect events. As a reliable technical partner , Kilchenmann assumes full responsibility for the planning, coordination, and execution of all technical requirements—from the initial concept to the very last minute of the event.

The event was carried out according to a clearly structured schedule: Technical setup began on March 17, followed by rehearsals and functional checks on March 18. The event itself took place on March 19 . The subsequent dismantling of all technical equipment was efficiently completed that same evening.

Technical implementation

For the main program, a stage with accompanying event structures was constructed and integrated into a cohesive, comprehensive event concept. Visual content was displayed on LED walls with a total surface area of approximately 40 m², which were used for presentations and video playback. The video and presentation technology was designed to ensure that all content could be displayed clearly, with high contrast, and without interruption.

For the audio system, a d&b sound reinforcement system was used, consisting of E8, Y7P, and B4 components. This was supplemented by a 12-channel wireless microphone system based on Axient Digital. This ensured consistent, clear speech transmission at all times—both on stage and in the audience, as well as during spontaneous remarks. JBL P9 spotlights were used for lighting . Rigging was carried out using a four-legged ground support that served as the load-bearing structure for lighting, audio, and video components. This solution offered high structural stability and flexibility in positioning the equipment without having to interfere with the existing building structure.

Kilchenmann was responsible for the overall technical implementation of the project . This included detailed planning, coordination with NZZ Connect and other project stakeholders, on-site coordination of the various trades, time and resource management, and technical support during the event. This centralized responsibility made it possible to reduce interfaces, shorten decision-making processes, and ensure a consistently high level of quality across all technical disciplines.
