Transa Backpacking AG, Markthalle Bern

Kilchenmann was asked by Aebi & Vincent Architekten SIA AG for the technical planning of the audio-visual system for the pop-up area in the Transa branch in the Markthalle Bern.

Kilchenmann then submitted a bid and was commissioned to install some components at the same time. There was a lot of deadline pressure in the project, as the shop opening had already been publicly scheduled. It was also important to work out a concept together to create different scenarios and moods. The architect also attached importance to leaving the existing surfaces in their raw state (e.g. without cladding).

The execution by Kilchenmann included the installation of the truss and approx. 80 spotlights in the event zone and entrance area as well as the complete installation of the audio-video system.

Transa uses the pop-up area multifunctionally and plays this zone with the most diverse event and exhibition formats. In addition to the installed spotlights, they need a projection on screen including sound and microphones. A mobile display trolley with a 75" display is also used. A touch panel and an iPad are used to control lighting, audio, video and all the room functions. The control software required for this was customised.

Another part of the order was the installation and integration of loudspeakers in the Transa Café Bar.
