Swiss Sustainable Forum 2025

Inspiring content, strong personalities and precise technical implementation: the Sustainable Switzerland Forum 2025 in the new Festhalle Bern provided participants with an impressive platform for discussing sustainable development. Kilchenmann ensured that everything ran smoothly - from planning to implementation.

The Sustainable Switzerland Forum, organized by NZZ Connect, is the annual highlight of the Sustainable Switzerland platform. It brings together leading figures from business, politics and society who are committed to sustainable development in Switzerland. The conference offers a forum for exchange, inspiration and concrete solutions. Renowned speakers present forward-looking strategies and motivate participants to implement sustainable activities in their own organizations.

The fourth edition of the forum offered visitors the opportunity to choose between three content streams: Circular Economy, Supply Chains in Conflict or AI & Energy Management. This thematic structure made it possible to organize the morning specifically according to one's own interests and to deal intensively with one area.

Initial situation/requirements

Kilchenmann and the Sustainable Switzerland Forum have enjoyed a successful partnership for many years. Kilchenmann's event team was also responsible for the technical support at this edition. The contract included not only the mere provision of technology, but also comprehensive support: from planning and coordination to implementation on site. The customer thus benefited from an all-round service that covered both the organizational and technical requirements.

For the first time, the forum was held in the new Festhalle in Bern, which boasted an impressive modern infrastructure. In addition to the existing building technology, Kilchenmann used additional components to tailor the event to the individual needs of the format and offer participants a professional experience.

Technical implementation

The conference program was diverse: keynote speeches, keynotes, interviews and panel discussions provided variety and offered the 40 speakers a stage for their contributions. Kilchenmann took on the task of providing smooth technical support for this complex process.

In the breakout rooms, which were known as "decks", the team provided complete technical support. Radio links were used for microfor microphones, a mixing console for audio mixing and PCs for recording content. The Kilchenmann team worked hand in hand with the in-house technicians and ensured that all speakers were able to concentrate on their content.

In order to also secure image material, the team installed PTZ cameras that recorded the stage shots in long shot. These recordings were saved directly to hard disks and were available to the customer immediately after the event.

The afternoon program took place in the Cube. Here, Kilchenmann supported the operation of the existing system and took on central tasks such as controlling the sound system, operating the LED wall and coordinating various lighting settings. In addition, a 3-camera control room with camera operators was used to document the event on film. The interplay of image, sound and light was in the hands of the Kilchenmann technicians throughout the event, who closely supervised the process.

The implementation was also logistically challenging. The set-up took place the day before, so that the first rehearsals could take place in the afternoon from 13:30. Dismantling began immediately after the end of the event. A total of twelve Kilchenmann specialists were deployed to professionally implement all technical requirements and ensure the success of the forum.

Reliable technical implementation was crucial for the content to have the best possible impact. With its experience and expertise, the Kilchenmann team ensured that the transition between plenary events, breakout sessions and film accompaniment worked seamlessly.
