Sitem-insel is the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine and aims to bring together multidisciplinary collaboration between clinics, research, industry and authorities under one roof to drive innovation for the benefit of patients.
Initial situation/requirements:
Rooms O2.214, O2.211, some workstations and the Clinical Anatomy Training and Research (CATR) area in the building at the entrance to the Insel Campus are to be equipped with intuitive and state-of-the-art AV technology. An AV over IP system is required - these are AV distribution systems that break down the audio or video signal into small packets according to the Ethernet standard and send them into a network or receive these packets and reassemble them into an AV signal in order to be able to play it back.
Technical implementation:
The state-of-the-art clinical anatomy facility, which is dedicated to surgical training and product development, is equipped with nine surgical workstations. The camera/video transmission per workstation can be transmitted to the MS Teams or to a desired room. Microphones and loudspeakers round off this installation. This means that workshops and training courses of all kinds can be carried out professionally.
The installation in room O2.214 includes a double projection with a projector and a video computer, loudspeakers, HDMI connections and a wireless presentation system. There are ceiling and hand-held microphones and headsets. The MS Teams integration with cameras and an AV over IP system (video signal from all rooms to all rooms and also to the existing auditorium) can be found here. The touch display with integrated MS Teams and zoom can be moved to the required location in the room on the mobile trolley.
Room O2.211 contains a projector with screen, ceiling microphones, loudspeakers and HDMI connections. The MS Teams integration with cameras and an AV over IP system (video signal from all rooms to all rooms and also to the existing auditorium) was also implemented here. This room is also equipped for "bring your own device or plug & play functionality". This functionality, tailored to the customer's needs, was developed and implemented together with the project management of sitem-insel.
The workstations/separable rooms are designed for "bring your own device". The customer's own connected laptop can feed the camera signal into MS Teams. A training display on a modern cable construction, a wireless presentation system and the AV over IP system are part of the installation.
Kilchenmann can access the entire system remotely in the event of a fault and offer the customer rapid support.
