EBL Elefantenhuus, Liestal

Kilchenmann has implemented a comprehensive audiovisual solution in the new Elefantenhuus in Liestal - including 4K cameras, a professional sound system, lighting system, LED wall and control via touch panel. The venue is therefore ideally equipped for hybrid events, live streams and cultural events.

EBL (Genossenschaft Elektra Baselland) pursues a clear vision: sustainability, innovative strength and security of supply are at the heart of its activities. With the Elefantenhuus on the Liestal site, EBL is sending a strong signal for future-oriented site development and at the same time creating a meeting place - open to the public and cultural events.

The tenant is the experienced team of the Kulturhotel Guggenheim. The hosts bring not only their passion for culture and cuisine, but also their attention to detail. This makes every event at the Elefantenhuus a very special experience.

Initial situation/requirements:

Kilchenmann was able to prevail against several competitors in a professional tendering process and was awarded the overall contract for the integration of the audiovisual technology. The scope of services included all lots: Electrical installations, mechanical systems, AV technology, audio/video systems, scenic lighting and the control of room and event technology.

Technical implementation:

The event room has been equipped with state-of-the-art technology to meet the highest demands:

  • Three PTZ cameras with 4K resolution ensure razor-sharp video recordings and live transmissions.
  • The microphones are flexible and mobile: Shure handheld radio microphones and bodypacks ensure clear speech intelligibility.
  • A powerful Crestron video conferencing codec enables professional hybrid meetings and live streams via AVoIP.
  • The lighting system with 32 spotlights - many of which are movable - enables dynamic lighting scenarios. A large lighting console is used for control.
  • The sound system is based on high-quality components from Fohhn, L-Acoustics and Tannoy, supplemented by line arrays, ceiling and cell loudspeakers and subwoofers - for rich, balanced sound.
  • An induction loop makes events accessible for people with hearing impairments.

One highlight is the 15 m² Barco LED wall, which can display content wirelessly from the TV tuner or via the ClickShare presentation system. Two 32-inch stage monitors are available for stage performances, providing optimal support for speakers and artists.

The entire technology can be controlled intuitively via touch panels - with preset event modes for different usage scenarios.

In the foyer, an 86-inch NEC display provides information about upcoming events and offers an elegant digital signage solution for guests and visitors.
