Kilchenmann consistently puts employees at the centre. Clients therefore benefit from motivated top specialists.

Customers expect professional solutions from Kilchenmann. The company can also offer these - thanks to its particularly broad-based specialist staff. There is therefore no question about the central importance of employees at Kilchenmann. Team spirit and respect are part of the corporate culture. In addition, authenticity, courage, involvement, trust and appreciation are lived values at Kilchenmann. A modern work infrastructure and collegial interaction create the basis for successful cooperation. Particular focus is placed on the development of the employees. This is specifically promoted through on-the-job and off-the-job training and further education.

Solid training begins when you start your job

Training is a top priority right from the start of an employment relationship. All new employees go through an introductory programme in which they get to know all departments and services. In addition, there is an internal training programme specifically tailored to the function and the degree of specialisation according to Kilchenmann standards. This applies to technicians and project managers, for example, while software engineers in part undergo external training at the software suppliers.

As a measure in the course of the technician training, the targeted sensitisation for topics in the area of safety and emergencies should also be emphasised. Based on the SUVA checklists, which are integrated into the internal process landscape, these aspects are again addressed in team meetings. External training is provided for specific fields of action, such as handling lifting platforms or working on the track.

In the initial phase, all employees are closely accompanied by their direct supervisors and, if necessary, by a "godmother/godfather". But individual support does not stop after the probationary period.

How are employees individually supported?

As part of the staff appraisals, personal further training is regularly reviewed and discussed. Employees can register their wishes in this context. For talented employees, development plans are drawn up together with their superiors to prepare them for a management and/or specialist function. As part of the company's development, the focus is also placed on leadership skills at regular intervals with the help of an external coach.

Employees are offered the opportunity to develop in a new area of expertise. From classic presentation technology to digital signage and customer flow management to collaboration: cross-thematic projects that require a broad range of know-how offer room for personal development. By working closely with other internal professionals, employees mutually benefit from existing expertise.

Employees gain additional know-how from their experience in complex projects that are unique in Switzerland. These include, for example, solutions in the high-security sector at armasuisse or at the blue-light organisations (including the Bern police).

What training and further education do Kilchenmann employees benefit from?

The importance of employee development is particularly evident in the wide range of training and further education on offer, even at the apprentice level. Kilchenmann has set itself the goal of providing young people with a successful future and trains apprentices in five professions (commercial employee, computer scientist, event specialist, multimedia electronics technician and logistics technician). The company is proud to offer so many apprenticeships, because creating apprenticeships also means taking social responsibility.

Employees are generally supported in their development. External measures include language courses or vocational training of various kinds at different diploma levels. Product training courses are also held to provide information about new products, technologies and trends. These take place either at the manufacturers' facilities abroad or in-house within the framework of so-called "topic-deep-dive sessions". As a rule, the training courses are awarded an industry-recognised diploma. Another important component of the support offered is attendance at Swiss and international trade fairs (e.g. Integrated Systems Europe, Amsterdam or InfoCom, Las Vegas) and various seminars and workshops.

Which specialists are employed by Kilchenmann?

Relevant expertise is mandatory in the industry. This is the only way to meet complex and individual customer expectations. Kilchenmann therefore relies on specialists across the entire range of media and communication technology with corresponding IT competence.

In the field of acoustics, Kilchenmann is one of the pro audito certified providers for deaf loops. For church sound reinforcement (for example in Bern Minster), the company builds on years of experience in collaboration with acousticians. In addition, Kilchenmann offers professionals for hotel TV installations (IP-TV) and is also the Swiss leader in programming media controls via AMX, Crestron and Extron. The same applies to the area of "A/V over IP" technology.

Experts are also needed for pyrotechnics, which have become indispensable at events such as wedding celebrations or SCB matches (think of the players' entry procedure). Since 2014, the permits for setting off fireworks have been severely restricted. However, thanks to specific training for indoor and outdoor fireworks, Kilchenmann specialists have the appropriate expertise.

The employees benefit - just as the company does

For the benefit of the employees, Kilchenmann participates financially in external further training and offers flexible working time models and part-time work in order to create the necessary balance. Ideally, this gives employees the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge and additional professional skills in a new, responsible role. So at Kilchenmann you can develop both horizontally and vertically. What conclusion can be drawn from this? Quite simple: Kilchenmann has the specialists in media and communication technology on board.
