Barcelona, with its bustling halls, lively discussions, and numerous concrete ideas. Under the motto "Push Beyond," ISE 2026 lived up to what a leading trade show should be today: less focus on technology, more solutions that offer real added value for spaces and events.

Together with client advisors* from auviso and Kilchenmann, we were on site as the IDS group. Our goal was clear: to identify relevant developments and translate them into concrete approaches for projects.

Why We're Going to ISE

For us, ISE isn’t just a mandatory stop, but a strategic business tool. We use the trade show to critically assess trends, challenge manufacturers in a targeted manner, and test innovations to see if they’re practical.

The fact that topics such as AI, sustainability, and cybersecurity were the focus of attention in 2026 reflects exactly what we are currently experiencing in our projects: increasing interconnectivity, a faster pace, and growing demands for security and efficiency.

ISE 2026 - A Brief Retrospective

In 2026, Integrated Systems Europe reaffirmed its position as the world’s leading trade show for professional audiovisual and systems integration solutions. With over 90,000 visitors* and some 1,700 exhibitors , Barcelona once again served as the global hub for the industry.

What was striking was the clear shift from individual products toward integrated, end-to-end solutions. AI was not presented as a vision of the future, but as a concrete function within collaboration, ordering, and analytics processes. At the same time, topics such as energy efficiency, lifecycle management, and IT security continued to gain strategic importance.

Focus: Three Key Developments for Our Projects

1. Space as an Integrated Experience
Modern audiovisual technology is increasingly viewed as an integral part of architecture. Screens, LED displays, and multimedia technology are no longer mere additions but actively contribute to the design of space. For our projects, this means early integration into planning and design, as well as close collaboration with architects* and clients.

2. Audio as a Quality Factor
It is precisely in hybrid work and event environments that audio quality determines acceptance and impact. Intelligent microphone technologies, precise speaker systems, and software-assisted optimization ensure clear speech intelligibility and consistent experiences. Audio is planned strategically, not as an afterthought.

3) Networked Devices and Ease of Use
Cameras, control systems, and interfaces are rapidly shifting toward IP-based infrastructures. Standardization and interoperability facilitate integration and operation. At the same time, the user experience is a top priority. The technology must be high-performance while remaining intuitive for users*.

Bruno Staub, Head of Product Management: "ISE 2026 once again impressively demonstrated that it is the global meeting place for the pro-AV industry and, at the same time, a driving force for innovation, strategic dialogue, and sustainable partnerships ".

Our conclusion: ISE 2026 demonstrated that successful projects are not the result of individual technologies, but of well-thought-out, holistic concepts. This is precisely where we come in at Kilchenmann. We combine technology, space, and usage to create solutions that work in the long term and truly connect people.
