Kilchenmann AG was commissioned to design and install a video conferencing solution in the meeting room.

Since this meeting room is located in the attic, there were special structural conditions that are not often encountered in everyday life. The installation of the video conference camera, the displays, soundbars and especially the ceiling microphones proved to be a special challenge.

At the same time, the numerous wooden beams and ventilation pipes also proved to be a way of concealing the large number of cables. This has the advantage that the otherwise unsightly electrical cables appear almost invisible and the charm of the room is preserved.

With the new media technology equipment, the meeting room has received state-of-the-art and flexible equipment for conducting video conferences. The Polycom dual camera captures all 24 seats and zooms in on the speaker thanks to people tracking technology. A 10-inch touch panel enables uncomplicated and intuitive operation of the video conferencing system. Presentations can be transmitted from a laptop to the large screen via an HDMI cable, regardless of whether a video conference is taking place or not. An 85-inch display was installed on a stand in the front part of the room and a 49-inch display for the participants in the back rows was attached to a bar. Two sound bars provide acoustic coverage without sound delay in the front and back parts of the room. Two ceiling microphones with cables were mounted on the sloping roof to clearly capture the participants' spoken contributions from every seat.

The result is something to behold: A rustic meeting room paired with modern technology.
