Light & audio control for the Don Bosco Cultural Centre, Basel

Written by Kilchenmann | 07 May 2021

After the planning contract, Kilchenmann was also allowed to take on the installation for this project straight away.

A particular challenge of this job was to lift the large chain systems for the two trusses through the church roof with a crane and to install them professionally in the attic.

In the stage area, in the stalls and in the gallery, eight connection points were equipped with DMX, KNX, XLR, CAT.7, 230 V / T13 / 13A. The trusses were equipped with: CAT 5+7, DMX (lighting control), coaxial cable/BNC (radio/video), XLR for hanging microphones or similar, T13 individually fused 13A and various spotlights. We mounted two 1400W loudspeakers per truss, which can be activated via Bluetooth and analogue connections. The hall lighting with 14 ceiling spotlights was integrated into our system and can be controlled via lighting control desk and mobile touch panel for various scenes. A 360° camera in the stage area transmits the image to the control room. A hearing-impaired system with induction loop completes the installation.

Here we also installed two large loudspeakers per room, which can also be controlled via a touch panel, Bluetooth and Chinch, as in the main hall.
