APGISGA Allgemeine Plakatgesellschaft AG - ePanels, St. Moritz

Written by Kilchenmann | 06 February 2019

As a technical integration partner for digital advertising media of APG|SGA, Allgemeine Plakatgesellschaft AG, Kilchenmann AG was able to realise the highest Mountain ePanel in Europe in the Engadine mountains at 3303 metres above sea level.

Kilchenmann realised a challenging digital signage project for Allgemeine Plakatgesellschaft AG at different locations of the two cable cars Corvatsch and Diavolezza. Eight Mountain ePanels were created there for digital advertising on the mountain. Every week, approx. 3360 spots of 60 seconds each are broadcast in the highly frequented transit zones and waiting areas. Almost 200 kg heavy steles with integrated 70 inch screens were installed, which can easily withstand the sometimes extreme climatic conditions on the mountain. All housings were clamped to walls, ceilings or columns with site-specific and partly rotatable support frames made of polished chrome steel. The assembly, which was carried out by three employees, took three days. Each stele has an autonomous playout system and is completely monitored. Failures can be detected immediately and remedied remotely. The tight schedule for installation and commissioning added to the challenge and required meticulous preparations as well as extensive detailed planning. Due to the railway infrastructure, the installation units had to be partly flown in by helicopter, for which there was only a very small window of time on a Wednesday morning at -10 C°. This was followed by the four-day installation during the week before Christmas.
